Warning: comparing two songs based on the same simple chord sequence, finding them similar, and using it to accuse whoever of plagiarism -> results in karma -= 10
If you think this similarity between two songs is a case of plagiarism, then you should assume that:
1. It is impossible to compose new songs without being guilty of plagiarism
2. If you really love music, then you have (most likely) listened to all possible existing songs. “Your life has no meaning anymore. Do you want to commit suicide? [OK] [Cancel]“

It’s probably just a coincidence that they use the same 4 notes in the same order all the time. After all, it’s just 4 notes. But I made the video for fun, not to say it’s plagiarism.
Comment by Sandude June 23, 2008 @ 7:34 amI know, I know (^_^) Thanks a lot for the video!!!
Comment by bleikur June 23, 2008 @ 3:55 pmI talked about all the discussions about plagiarism on many other sites =)
I think that if you can’t see that Coldplay ripped off Alizee here, then you probably need to get down off of Coldplay’s jock. Jen ai Marre the song that Coldplay stole has been around for at least 5 years and was an international hit. Listen to the vocal notes, especially during the chorus, if you can’t see that it’s a ripoff then you’re pretty blind…or deaf maybe ^_^
Comment by kurt July 9, 2008 @ 7:20 pmThey are so similar that I heard she’s going to sue them asking $55 million.
Comment by Jane September 6, 2008 @ 12:32 pmPerhaps both were working with the same producer or composer. Lucky guy, got the double money.
