Warning: comparing two songs based on the same simple chord sequence, finding them similar, and using it to accuse whoever of plagiarism -> results in karma -= 10
If you think this similarity between two songs is a case of plagiarism, then you should assume that:
1. It is impossible to compose new songs without being guilty of plagiarism
2. If you really love music, then you have (most likely) listened to all possible existing songs. “Your life has no meaning anymore. Do you want to commit suicide? [OK] [Cancel]“
deserves to be celebrated with a ritual, under the magic midnight sun.
[RITUAL SONG: Echo Sam (by Holy Fuck)]
*** HAPPY SUMMER SOLSTICE ***
Maybe you think that mastering the spanish language is enough to communicate fluently with a spanish-speaking person.
But no, it is not. If you really want to fully understand and make yourself understood you should not forget this rule: whenever you are in the middle of a conversation, you should apply the following conversion rule:
| He says… | He means… |
|---|---|
| Sí | Quizás |
| Quizás | No |
| No | Sí |
Don’t forget to apply the conversion from right to left as a speaker! Make sure that you make yourself understood.
And now, some practical examples:
Example 01
- ¿Quedamos mañana a las 5 en punto en la Plaza del Pijo?
- ¡Claro que sí! Hasta mañana.
This example is quite familiar to most foreigners, but not so many of them know that this is just an instance of the rule described above.
Example 02
- Vamos a quedar este fin de semana para una partida, pero nos falta uno en el equipo. ¿Te apuntas?
- Uhm… no se. Quizás me apunte. <- It really means “Uhm… sí sé. No me apunto”.
This is a good example of how knowing this rule will help you to optimize your plans. They will still miss one on the team, unless they get a “yes” answer from 2 different persons… which would mean that both of them have a 50% “maybe” chance of joining.
Example 03
- Tío, he oído rumores de que te has acostado con mi ex. ¿No sera verdad, no?
- ¡No, claro que no!
This one does not need an explanation, does it?
…that the food items you normally buy in supermarkets last longer and longer, while the life of the gadgets you buy, such as mobiles, gets shorter and shorter?!?
…
Today I feel tired, but a little bit proud of myself. So many hours of hard work had a really nice result!
Unfortunately, not everything in life is so simple. Not every cause-effect law can be simplified to “do your best and everything will be OK”. Not every instance of “if there is a will there is a way” returns TRUE.
Why? Because of the ‘LUCK’ variable.
Just a few minutes ago, someone told me:
Someone> “Luck does not exist”
And I wonder:
Isn’t it good luck to be born in - let’s say - Sweden instead of Ethiopia?
Isn’t it good luck to be born healthy instead of being born - let’s say…- blind or deaf…
Or to have parents that don’t drink or do drugs…
Or to have a job you really enjoy
Being born in a rich family instead of a poor one…
(the list would continue endless…)
I think that the reason Mr. Someone told such a thing is because he is a lucky person himself, and therefore he is unable to see the luck by himself - unless someone points at it for him.
And so it happens with many other things:
- Rich people see no money - they don’t need to care about the cost of things
- Healthy people do not realize their health - until they lose it!
- Modest people do not realize their modesty, because if they did they would not really be modest!
- (Add more examples in the comments if you find them!
)
That is our nature… that is how we are… like one in the water who cries out for thirst.

Today I feel…
No, today I don’t feel nothing or nothing. I might be starting to master the art of emotional immunity. Nice!
I have not had internet at home for a while. Somehow I feel kind of free and purified by this fact.
Suddenly I remember the times when we did not have internet, computers and such. We were more creative in entertaining ourselves.
I remember one of my favourite ways of having fun when I was a kid:
reversing music tapes!
It was easy even having a standard tape reader. You just needed to cut the part of the tape with the song you wanted to listen backwards, and tape it again to the rest of the tape with the inner face out. Voila! You discovered a new song - without necessarily discovering satanic messages on the eventual backward lyrics.
I still do it on boring or rainy days, but now it is too easy with digitalized songs and software. It is not exactly the same, but basically as funny as before. It might sound strange… but maybe it is not.
Because think about the theory of time being a result of the universe still expanding after the big bang explosion. Let’s suppose for a while that this is true.
Think also about the theory of the universe being continuosly in the loop of being expanded, and compressed, and expanded, and compressed… let’s suppose for a while that this is also true.
So… this would mean that everything that happens in the universe is happening forward and backwards infinite times! Your life, my life, have happened infinite times before. Forward and backward. Doesn’t it make you wonder?
Are you actually living forward or backward now?
Now we learn as we live, but living backwards we know everything and then forget everything progressively as we undo it.
How many times have you read and unread this blog before?
Were you happier as a child than now as an adult? Are you dissapointed about life? Good! Next time you will be happier and happier as time unpasses!
But the worse thing about living backwards is…
CAN YOU IMAGINE THE END OF YOUR LIFE?????
Don’t try to visualize it… you migth not stand it.
Anyway, try the thing of reversing songs. It is fun. Besides I just thought about a possible advantage: if you take commercial music, maybe RIAA will have to pay you for every time you play a song backwards!!!
